![]() Welcome! This site is dedicated to a new war format called Above the Trenches. The war will use modified maps, and (hopefully) modified aircraft FMs, DMs, and new aircraft as well. At this time, I'm developing new maps and testing them. As of March 2005, we're still testing the Marne map. Below are downloads for the map testing. One of these is a ZIP file with all files necessary for testing all of the maps. If you have not downloaded any files yet, download this one. If the ZIP file changes I will notify everyone here. If you have already downloaded the ZIP file, check to make sure that your landmarks file is the most current. I will post the latest landmarks file here as well. Unzip this file into a clean Multi folder. I suggest making multiple Multi folders within your Red Baron Data folder, and using one of these as a dedicated testing folder for this project. The following is an image of what the Marne map should look like. If you do not see your map as in this picture, please update your files with the latest landmark.dat file.
I am currently working on some map modifications, which are pictured below. There are two principle changes. One, I've added a drome for each side. Two, I've added artillery positions (for actual artillery spotting). Those are the flags denoted by the number 2. The number 1 flags are infantry positions. Artillery is four on each side, equidistant from two of the opposing infantry positions. This is so that we can conduct real artillery spotting missions. A picture of the map is here:
