Hi,
This is an update to our initial attempt at having a web page!
We'd like to introduce you to our family. The picture to the right was taken on Mother's Day 2005 when Nana Todd (left) and Nana Comparetto (right) were visiting us in Berryville, Virginia. We have been blessed with 8 children. Dan is our oldest and just turned 16 years old in April. He is on my left in the picture (I'm the one with the grey hair!). Next to him is Michael (14 yrs old), with Joshua in front of them (12 yrs old). Elizabeth and I are in the back row with Rachel (9 yrs old) in front of mom. Our little Esther (4 yrs old) is next to Rachel with John (8 yrs old) in front of me. Nathan (6 yrs old) is on the right side of the front row and I'm holding Stehpen (born October 5, 2004)
Stephen is our youngest child. He was born last October 5th with a rare genetic disorder called Trisomy 13 Mosaic. Clicking on his name to the left will bring you to the LivingWithTrisomy website that provides a lot of information about Trisomy 13 and some of the children that have survived with it. Their stories are such a blessing! I've placed a number of pictures below and will continue to update the pictures over time. We are so thankful that the Good Lord continues to shine His face upon our family!
Stephen had open heart surgery in January during which a large VSD was repaired. A mal-rotation of his intestines was also corrected during that hospital stay. Late in March, Stephen had his cleft lip repaired and had a G-tube inserted to help with his feedings. He's scheduled to have his cleft palate repaired on August 31st. During that surgery, he may also have tubes inserted in his ears. Lord willing, this should be Stephen's last surgery for several years. As you can see, the Good Lord has taken care of Stephen throughout all of these surgeries!
